Lobelia is a moisture-loving perennial that adds color to shaded areas and to thrives in moist areas like stream and pond banks and low lying areas with water runoff or near streams and ponds.

Plants form clumps of green and purple-bronze foliage with spikes of scarlet flowers that open from the bottom to the top. Flowers bloom for several weeks attracting hummingbirds and butterflies. 

Best used in a border or a wild, hummingbird, butterfly, or water garden. Also adds color to woodland gardens.
