Cornus sericea 'Baileyi'
Bailey's Red Twig Dogwood (Redtwig)
This plant's reddish-purple fall color, blue fruits and bright red stems in winter make it a standout in fall and winter. Green summer foliage turns to purple-red in fall. Small white flowers give way to blue fruits.
The wildlife value is outstanding. Redtwig dogwood provides cover, nesting sites, pollen and nectar, and food for birds and mammals.
Spreads by underground stems so excellent for massing in large spaces, moist areas, and along stream banks.
