Acer rubrum Red Sunset®

Red Sunset® Red Maple

Red Sunset® was introduced 40 years ago by J. Frank Schmidt and has dominated the market ever since. This vigorous-growing tree has a symmetrical, broadly oval shape with the informal graceful habit of the species. Lustrous, glossy green summer foliage changes to brilliant shades of red and orange-red in the fall.

This highly rated and reliable introduction is one of the best for early fall color.

Red maples provide cover for wildlife, nesting sites for birds, and are a good source of early-season nectar.

Growing & Maintenance Tips for Acer rubrum Red Sunset®
