Magnolia grandiflora Carolina Compacta

Carolina Compacta Magnolia

Carolina Compacta was selected for its compact, narrow habit. Creamy white flowers open May-June and are wonderfully fragrant. Flowers are followed by 2-3" long brown, cone-like fruits with beautiful red seeds hanging down from slender "threads." The leaves are green on the front and the back.

Southern magnolia provides nesting sites, cover for wildlife, food for caterpillars, and the seeds are eaten by birds and small mammals. The fragrant flowers attract pollinators.

Excellent as a focal point and for smaller spaces.
