Liquidambar styraciflua Rotundiloba

Fruitless Sweetgum

Unlike other sweetgum trees, the leaves of Rotundinloba have rounded lobes instead of pointed, star-shaped lobes. The foliage is especially glossy and dark green. Fall leaf color is yellow. This North Carolina selection is seedless so produces few, if any, spiny gumball fruits making it a good choice for street tree use.

Trees provide shelter for wildlife, and nesting sites for birds.
