Emerald Arborvitae

Emerald was selected for the narrow compact pyramidal form and bright lustrous emerald green foliage. The leaves are flat, with sprays of scale-like, foliage. The foliage has a citrus fragrance. Unlike many other Arborvitae, the foliage stays emerald green through winter and it has better heat tolerance. Birds enjoy the dense cover for nesting sites.

This dense upright evergreen is a good choice as an evergreen backdrop in the border, for a screen, and as a hedge.
