Acer x freemanii 'Armstrong'

Armstrong Maple

This cross between red maple and silver maple features the best characteristics of both parents. Solid branch structure, nice form, and showy fall color combine with fast growth to make 'Armstrong' an adaptable, popular tree. The leaf is similar to a silver maple with yellow to orange-yellow fall color.

This distinctly upright maple has fastigiate branching and a columnar to narrow oval form. It is an excellent choice as a street tree, for concrete cutouts, and for dry, urban soil.
