This selection by Dr. Michael Dirr is a vigorous tree form and a fast grower in nursery production.  It has striking panicles of fragrant, white flowers in May just before it leafs out. With 6-10" long panicles covering the entire plant, this is one of our prettiest flowering native trees.

The leaves on this selection are especially dark green and lustrous, emerging as the flowers fade. This male selection does not produce fruit; a benefit in high-traffic areas.

Can be used as a specimen plant or in small groups along a woodland border. It provides good understory cover and nesting sites for birds.

Fall foliage is clear yellow.
